What is this blog?

Why are you here, reading this page right now, and why should you care about blogging in 2025? Chances are, I’ve told you about this blog, and you’re reading out of curiosity. Or, maybe you found me another way. Regardless of why you’re on this site, I’m happy you’re reading right now. In a world where attention is the currency of human interaction, you’ve chosen to spend some of it here.

Attention spans are shortening drastically, largely thanks to technological advancement. Though the compression of informational media is making our attention spans worse, even more to blame is the rise of other forms of social media. The reason this is happening is because humans are hardwired to seek instant gratification, and these forms of content play into that desire. There’s a place for social media and short-form content, but if it’s all we consume, we miss so much context.

You might be reading this and thinking I’m an antiquated geezer who needs to get with the times. I’ll admit: I’m more old-school than the average twenty-something year-old. But the reality is that I’ve met many people my age who feel the same way. They want something more than bite-sized pieces from their social media feeds.

So, why start a blog in 2025? This is a passion project. I’ve been photographing since I was fifteen, and I’ve never consistently shared my work. I’ve been writing even longer. This blog serves as a meaningful way for me to do three things: to engage with long-form content, which artists have been creating since the beginning of humanity; to share my passion for photography and the stories it can tell; and to supplement them with written text that seeks to engage in expositional dialogue beyond the presentation of an image by itself.

If you’re a skeptic, a deep thinker, an enjoyer of traditional art, or just have a love for stories, I hope you’ll join me on this journey.
